Roles And Positions
The internship is designed to give participants the chance to meaningfully contribute to and learn from the work of the pre-selected NGOs who will be their hosts. The intern will be challenged to grow in their competences and acquire experiences by being assigned particular tasks and responsibilities. The intern is expected to participate in various office activities as well as occasionally those out in the field. They must also be professional, accountable, and flexible.
Through a pre-qualification process, the NGO secretariat will pre-select NGOs from among its membership, and each NGO will be able to indicate how many interns they desire to host for the four-month term. Interns will be allocated to departments for the three months that best match their training, expertise, and interests.
However, an intern may occasionally be assigned to more than one department, such as the programme or support departments. Human resources, procurement, and logistics are just a few examples of the support departments.
Food security, health, education, water and sanitation, nutrition, policy engagement, communications, monitoring and evaluation, and community engagement are just a few of the departments that make up the programme department.

Internships are on a voluntary basis and no salary is provided however a small monthly stipend will be provided to help interns cover personal expenses such as transport costs, lunch etc. The intern is wholly responsible for all costs related to health, accommodation unless he or she has been assigned by the host NGO on a field mission out of his/her duty station.
